Happy New Year!

Farewell 2013.

Hello 2014.

First off, no; I did not manage to write the correct date today. I had to write “4” over top of the “3.” I’m sure I’ll have it down by tomorrow..

I’m very excited for this upcoming year. I have my goals. I feel refreshed. I’m ready to start walkin’. And most importantly, I comfortably have the Lord right by my side.

2013 definitely led up to me getting closer to God. I truly do feel that he’s my best friend. One of my favorite songs is “Me and God” by Josh Turner. I just love the lyrics because I can relate to them so well.

“He’s my Father, he’s my friend.
The beginning, and the end.
He rules the world,
With a staff and rod.
We’re a team,
Me and God.”

I already know many things will be changing this year. It makes me excited, but it also makes me wonder what God might have in store. You just never, ever know. He works in the most mysterious ways. His timing is always perfect, no matter how apprehensive you might feel leading up to it.

When I understand that everything happening to me is to make me more Christlike, it resolves a great deal of anxiety. – A.W. Tozer

I’ve had prayers answered this year, and I’m still waiting for others. I cannot thank God enough for his provisions, mercy, and grace that he has given me. I am so undeserving, yet he still listens. I’ll continue to pray, and have faith. He’ll answer them, one way or another. I must have a willing heart, and to ultimately seek his will, not my own.

  • Read the Bible.
  • Fear God.
  • Obey his commandments.
  • Practice the “arts” more.
  • Write on a more regular basis.
  • Become more knowledgeable on things that will allow me to defend the Book.
  • Build up my savings.
  • Take the right steps to become healthier to better prepare myself for the future.
  • Achieve some certifications.
  • Decrease more, so Christ may increase. (John 3:30)
  • Take better charge of my ministries.
  • Work towards become “God’s Woman.”

The scripture’s I meditated on as I welcomed the new year was Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 and Philippians 3:20-21. The song “I’d Rather Have Jesus” was playing on my laptop. Exactly at 12:00AM, I gave my Dad a hug and a kiss.

My New Year’s outfit. I felt it summed myself and my year up pretty well. lol

I feel earnest this coming year.

“Walk more closely with God. Get nearer to Christ. Seek to exchange hope for assurance. Seek to feel the witness of the Spirit more closely and distinctly every year. Lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily threatens you. Press towards the mark more earnestly. Fight a better fight, and war a better warfare every year you live. Pray more. Read more. Subdue self more. Love the brethren more. Oh that you may endeavor to grow in grace every year, that the end of your Christian course may be better than the beginning!” – J.C. Ryle

I pray that you all might feel the same. Grow closer to the Lord. Read the Bible daily. Pray without ceasing. There’s no better way to live life.

If you haven’t accepted the Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please do so.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:…” 1 Corinthians 15:1-1

Time is short. Live each day for the Lord. You will not regret it.

Many blessings to you all.

I do want to give one minor update.

I will be deleting my Facebook fanpage. Instead of connecting with you all through there, I will be asking that you all “Follow” my personal page. I have the link on the sidebar already, above the fan page link. I’m not able to properly utilize both pages, and I feel you’ll be able to get to know me more through my main page.

Following me will be different than befriending me. Unless I know you a little better, I won’t be accepting friend requests willy-nilly for safety and privacy reasons. If you follow me, you’ll be able to see filtered updates on what I feel comfortable with sharing.

Using this method, I will have better control, and the flow of information will be a lot more smoother and controlled than the fan page.

I’ll be deleting the fan page sometime this week..if not today. We’ll see how the transition goes.

I hope y’all don’t mind!
