Blogember 4: Write for 5 minutes on the prompt: Freedom.
The Lord gives us so much freedom as Christians. He’s set us free from sin and bondage. Yet, we have so many Christians trying to then set another yolk of bondage and limit our liberties in Christ.
Here, you’re saved and free from sin! You’re guaranteed to go to heaven when you die. BUT, here’s a few lists and formula’s to follow as a Christian. It’ll make you be a better Christian. And, there is a chance that if you don’t follow these lists and formula’s, you might not be a Christian….So, you best follow them.
Oh, you don’t see any scriptural basis for it? Well, it’s right here! What? It’s not that specific in scripture? Well, it doesn’t have to be! Look at all these examples I’m showing you to prove my point! Regardless of what you say, I see it in scripture, regardless if it really says that or not.
Satire aside, it is such a shame.
All Christians have their own journey in the Lord. We’ll all be at different places. We all will have different personal convictions. The word of God should be our foundation; it is to light our path in our journey. To add lists and formula’s to follow enable us to then commit comparisons and judge others in a fleshly manner.
Dad taught me learn to use the Bible as a mirror first. Of course we are to judge; judge a righteous judgement. There’s a time and place for that. But when it comes to our freedom in Christ, let us not bind ourselves. The Lord’s given it to us, let us use it for his glory.
(This post is completely raw and unedited. When it said “on the prompt” I took it seriously. Today, it worked for me. I’m not sure if I could have done any better if I had really tried. LOL)
