The bee population through the years have been declining. I have seen it first hand. My vegetable garden suffered this year because of it.
I thought, “There has to be a way to help the bee’s!”. There’s never any swarms around the area, so I can’t report. Nor am I able to house bee’s on my “land”. The other options were naturally flowers.
I figured that I would have to stay away from hybrid GM flowers, since that may be one reason why the bee population has declined. I would also avoid self-pollinating flowers. (To me that makes sense, tell me if I am wrong.)
On our property I have noticed that the bee’s in the area are very miniscule compared to the end of the summer. When spring came hardly any bee’s were around, but this time of the year we have bee’s bombarding a group of flowers in the front yard. (Bumble Bee’s and Honey Bee’s both.) So I might need to plant more early-spring/spring flowers.
Here are some links to encourage Bee’s around your house, garden, or general area.
Also, check out Bee M.D., a company that produces honey cough drops. All natural. I bought some at Big Lots and another store a few months ago. They work great, and I love that they have honey in it, and not a bunch of processed sugar and who knows what else. Plus they support bee’s! Check out their website, and if you feel like doing so, support them!
